Exhibit overview: Juices flow when you work on location. And when you paint in exotic places like Greece and Italy, one's edge seems continually sharp. I did some math and found that of the 61 pictures I painted in Europe during the two trips featured here, around 30 found their way into frames. And of those, a mere dozen were eye popping super. My sister once asked me, "Why doesn't every one turn out a masterpiece, for gosh sakes? You've been doing it long enough!" I asked her if her husband always brought home a full tub of fish every time he went out in his boat. "No way" was the answer. 30 out of 61 is fine with me. Just think, if I were a ball player I'd be batting .500.
