The Art of Charles Sovek

Exhibit Archive | "April in Paris"

Exhibit overview: "April in Paris" - Painting the streets of Paris has to be one of the most fulfilling experiences I've ever had as an artist. Leaning against the wall of 54 Rue Lepic, where Vincent and Theo lived and trying to paint the same rooftop vista Van Gogh depicted so beautifully or trying to catch the effect of dappled light on leisurely walkers in Luxembourg Gardens just as Renoir did, has to be some kind of highlight in my artistic pursuit. So with my heart in every effort, I offer my view of April in Paris, 2001.
